Got my scanner working!

Sat Jun 14, 2008, 7:07 PM
Yeaaaah... got my five year old scanner to work with Vista today. I was kinda surprised. At any rate, this means I can scan stuff again, woo! I like drawing in Photoshop, don't get me wrong, but sometimes it's nice to use real paper and pencils. On that note my scraps section is probably gonna fill up fast with doodles. ^^; ah well.

Something I recently found out, I like perspective. I suck at it, but I like it. It's now my mission to make it my bitch. more than likely I'm gonna end up in a corner in the fetal position, but well see. Anyway, what all this garbled info means is that hopefully there'll be some art coming from this camp soon. Wish me luck. :)

Eight things about me

(ONLY for you Moo Cow. I'd only do this for you. :shakefist: )

1. One of my favorite foods is chicken noodle soup with feta cheese in
it.

2. I was born completely cross eyed, but it straighted out as I got older.

3. I have curly hair

4. I'm afraid of lightning

5. My favorite book is Rasco and the rats of Nihm. I stole it from my class room in sixth grade.

6. My best friend growing up was named Mario

7. I've visited a town that bares my name. "Elizabeth" Ilinois

8. I have a five inch long scar on the inside of my knee where I cut myself on a chain-link fence.

eight things about me that no one really needed to know, but there they are. ... now what?

Sprin-- er Summer Cleaning!

Wed Aug 29, 2007, 7:08 PM
Woo! Cleaned up my gallery. It's nice to have devinations in my gallery rather than a lot of half finished crap.
[link] doesn't count because... well it just doesn't! In other news... got my artistic groove back! Yay! Lost it for a bit there... So hopefully I have stuff to upload soon! (That isn't scrap worthy.)

Old News:

Hi. If you don't know me, and I'm pretty confident you've never heard of me... ever. I'm Liz, better known as Jes in certain web circles.

First off, thanks for checking out my D.A page; hopefully you'll see something you like, or something that inspires you. Either way, here are a few tips that should make browsing this gallery a bit more enjoyable for you.

Viewing

:bulletblue:  Don’t feel obligated to “Full View,” or read the artist comments.

(Or this either if you don’t feel like it ) I’m not gonna lie, that work is going to look better if you full view it, but I try resize the image so that it’s big enough to see WITHOUT full viewing it. I do this as a courtesy to people with laggy connections or crummy computers.

Commenting/ Dev Watching/ Faving.

:bulletblue:  Do not feel obligated to leave a comment.

Too often I hear other artists complain about how no one comments on their work. This isn't a problem for me. While I read, appreciate and try to reply to all comments that I receive, I do not hang my artistic self-worth on the comments of others. I am happy if my work evokes a reaction of any kind, though I do not necessarily need to know what that reaction is.

:bulletpurple:  If you do want to comment…

Do so as you see fit.

One word responses, emotes, ramblingly long critiques (my fave) or just plain out and out flames are all fine by me. After all, a comment is just an opinion. I’ll either agree with it or I won’t, but that shouldn’t stop you from making one if you want, and it won’t change my opinion of myself. (Though, that doesn’t mean I won’t take what you say into consideration. If you suggest something that I think will make my work better on the whole I will use it. )
Feel free to leave a comment about anything, even if it’s just to say hi.

    :bulletpurple:  Dev Watching

Don’t ask…

A lot of people have noted me to ask for permission to Dev Watch me… I will never understand this. Deviant Art is a public forum… If I didn’t want people to see my art I wouldn’t post it. Still… I suppose I shouldn’t crap on people who have enough manners to think of some other than themselves. “Go them”

    :bulletpurple:  Faving

Feel free to fave without commenting.

Again, you don't need to comment if you don't want to.

And that's all I have to say. If you actually read all this crap you get the cookie of patients and a map that shows the way to Atlantis! Or Atlanta... I forget which.

"The end."
Anticlimactic, wasn't it?

Testing

Testing out the Wii's browser. It's cute... Not sure if it warrents the space it takes up, however. Ah well.
